(Jackson, Miss.) – In an effort to ensure no child goes hungry this summer, the City of Jackson is hosting a Summer Feeding Program for Jackson residents 0 to 18 years of age. The program will be in operation for just over a month, beginning today, June 10 and extending to July 12. Hours of operation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
All meals must be eaten on site at one of three locations: Smith Robertson Community Center, Sykes Park Community Center and Westside Community Center.
The city’s Jackson Meals Matter will oversee the food giveaway. JMM is a city-wide anti-hunger awareness campaign that ensures every child in the City of Jackson has access to food. JMM has also formed a task force of food insecurity and anti-hunger experts to confront and solve hunger issues in Jackson.
