Brian Grizzell

Councilman Brian C. Grizzell is a lifelong resident of Jackson, Mississippi.  He is the youngest son of the former JPD Officer Marvin Grizzell, and Gloria Dyson Grizzell, both deceased. Councilman Grizzell has over 22 years of professional experience in the areas of business management, operations management, education, and consulting. He is a Mississippi licensed educator, holding an AAAA license and is owner of Brian Grizzell and Associates, LLC, a Jackson-based consulting firm. Grizzell is also 3X Professor in the College of Business Administration at Strayer University, which provided over a million dollars in academic scholarships to local Jackson, Mississippi residents, including City of Jackson employees.

Councilman Grizzell is a proud graduate of Jackson State University with a BBA in finance. He is a Jacksonian in every sense of the word! He is a diehard SWAC and New Orleans Saints fan who never misses a game. In addition to his successes at Jackson State University, Grizzell has gone on to earn graduate and terminal degrees in business, education leadership, applied management and decision sciences, and higher education.

Grizzell has also authored and co-authored over 48 published peer reviewed articles in the fields of education, urban education, leadership, and management. He serves as a reviewer of several professional and scholarly journals, and has presented his research in rigorous forums such as Yale University, University at Albany SUNY, and the Sloan Consortium. Councilman Grizzell also serves on the Review Board of the Joint Conference of the Academic Business World International Conference and the International Conference on Learning and Administration in Higher Education, which houses The Journal of Learning in Higher Education, The Journal of Academic Administration in Higher Education, and The International Journal of Academic Business World. He also serves on the editorial and review board of the Journal of Business Economics and Management, which is housed at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University in Lithuania.
