The City of Jackson Homebuyer Assistance Program
The City of Jackson awards HOME funds to nonprofits to help low-to-moderate income households realize their dream of homeownership. The program offers Down Payment Assistance to ensure affordability based on the needs of the family. Eligibility is based upon annual household income at or below 80% of the area median income (AMI). The purchase amount cannot exceed $156,000.
Homebuyer Education
Homebuyer Education classes offer program participants the financial management skills needed to maintain a spending plan/budget and understand credit in order to become mortgage-ready. These skills increase the opportunity for each participant to realize the American Dream of homeownership for themselves and their families.
Program Requirements
- The home must be located within the city limits of Jackson.
- The home must be used as the primary residence for applicant for the Affordability Period.
- The applicant must attend and complete an approved 8-hour course of Homeownership Education training.
