Eradicating Homelessness

The goal of the Homelessness Initiative is to eradicate homelessness in the City of Jackson. Our goal is to work the strategies identified in the City of Jackson’s Ten-Year Plan to End Homelessness.

Our first priority is to provide permanent supportive housing for chronically homeless individuals, connect chronically homeless individuals and those at risk of becoming chronically homeless to the appropriate services that will assist them in accessing stabilizing and retaining housing.

We are also working to provide optimal prevention/discharge planning for chronically homeless individuals and to engage the community and develop the infrastructure to fully implement the plan.
