Citywide Boil Water Notice
(JACKSON, Miss) – The City of Jackson is currently under a precautionary citywide boil water notice due to dropping below 65 psi. We have mitigated the ACH process issues causing the conventional side of the water plant to be shut down. The result was the inability to treat water on the conventional side of the water plant. The conventional side of water plant is back online as of this evening. We anticipate seeing the pressure increase overnight, but areas in west and south Jackson will take longer to recover due to elevation. The precautionary boil water notice will not be lifted until the pressure increases above 65 psi, water storage tanks start to fill, and two good days of sampling.
Please stay tuned into media outlets and the City’s website for updates.
