I have a dilapidated property next door what should I do?

If you have a blighted or dilapidated property in your neighborhood you can file a complaint with the City of Jackson’s Community Improvement at 601-960-1054. Additionally, you can file a complaint through the 311 portal or on our website. 

How do I start a business in the City?

For questions concerning the establishment of a business, please visit the division of Signs and Licenses on the first floor of the Warren Hood Building located at 200 South President Street, Jackson, MS 39205. Once there, please ask for a Business Entrepreneur Assistance Team (B.E.A.T.) coach to help you navigate the business licensing process.

Does the city require a business license?

Yes, if you need to purchase a business license you can go to the first floor of the Planning Department at 200 S. President St. at Signs and Licenses. We call our business license a privilege license.
