What benefits does the City offer?

We offer benefits including (but not limited to) health, dental, vision, life insurance, wellness, employee assistance, flexible spending, and deferred compensation programs. We participate in the Public Employees’ Retirement System of Mississippi (PERS) for retirement benefits and contract with United Healthcare to provide health insurance.

How do I register my new business?

If you would like to register your new business, you should check with the Business Development Division to make sure your business location is zoned properly for the business you want to do. Then you will need to complete a Business License Application.

How do I pay my property taxes?

Property taxes are paid to your local Tax Collector where the property is located. If your property is located in Hinds County, contact the Hinds County Tax Collector located at 316 President St. Jackson, MS for more information. 

How do I pay my business license?

To pay your business license (privilege license), visit the Signs and Licenses Division at the Warren Hood Building located at 200 S. President St. Click here for more information about business licenses. 

Where can I get fingerprinted?

The Jackson Police Identification Unit provides fingerprinting services for the public for a fee. For more information, call 601-960-1325.

Who comes to my house when I call 9-1-1?

If the call is about a fire or medical emergency, firefighter paramedics are the first responders to your home when you call 9-1-1.
