Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG)

The Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) supports activities that address homelessness in Jackson. OHCD distributes ESG funds to nonprofit providers that deliver direct services, shelter, and rehousing support.

Mission:

ESG funds provide emergency and preventive measures to reduce homelessness and support households in crisis.

Eligible Activities:

- Street outreach and engagement
- Emergency shelter operations and essential services
- Rapid rehousing assistance and case management
- Homelessness prevention, including short-term rental and utility assistance

Eligibility:

- Nonprofit organizations and service providers may apply as subrecipients.
- Clients served must meet HUD homelessness definitions and income limits.
