The Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) supports activities that address homelessness in Jackson. OHCD distributes ESG funds to nonprofit providers that deliver direct services, shelter, and rehousing support.
Mission:
ESG funds provide emergency and preventive measures to reduce homelessness and support households in crisis.
Eligible Activities:
- Street outreach and engagement - Emergency shelter operations and essential services - Rapid rehousing assistance and case management - Homelessness prevention, including short-term rental and utility assistance
Eligibility:
- Nonprofit organizations and service providers may apply as subrecipients. - Clients served must meet HUD homelessness definitions and income limits.
