How to Apply
Apply for Neighborhood Services Programs
Neighborhood Services programs are open to all registered neighborhood associations in the City of Jackson. Follow the steps below to get started.
Step 1. Register Your Neighborhood Association
All associations must register through the City’s OpenGov portal. Registration requires:
- Association name and boundary map
- Leadership contact information
- Uploaded bylaws or governance document
Step 2. Complete Government 101
At least one representative from your neighborhood must complete the Government 101 civic education course. This online training covers City departments, zoning, and service delivery.
Step 3. Apply for Programs
Once registered and trained, associations can apply for:
- Neighborhood Improvement Program (NIP) small grants
- Community Clean Up Initiative supplies/support
- Expo vendor tables
Applications are submitted online through OpenGov. Deadlines are announced each spring.
Process:
- Register — Association signs up in OpenGov (icon: 🏠 map pin).
- Complete Government 101 — At least one leader trained (icon: 🎓).
- Apply — Submit forms for NIP grants, Clean Up support, Expo tables (icon: 📝).
- Funded — City approves and supports (icon: 💰).
