Homebuyer Assistance & TBRA

OHCD supports Jackson residents seeking to purchase a home or stabilize rental housing through financial assistance and counseling requirements. These programs are offered through HOME, CDBG, and HOPWA funding sources.

Mission:

To expand access to affordable homeownership and prevent homelessness through rental assistance.

Homebuyer Assistance:

- Provides down payment and closing cost aid
- Requires income eligibility and pre-purchase counseling
- Aims to increase sustainable homeownership rates in Jackson

TBRA:

- Offers short- and medium-term rental subsidies
- Assists eligible households, including those living with HIV/AIDS through HOPWA
- Provides stability during financial hardship

Eligibility:

- Applicants must meet income guidelines
- Assistance is limited and offered during open application periods
