Ashby Foote grew up as an Army brat in many locales across the country and overseas. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1969, and after one year at the University of Southern Mississippi, he entered West Point. Upon graduation from the United States Military Academy in 1974, he entered the Army Field Artillery as a Second Lieutenant. He exited the service in 1980 as a Captain and returned to Jackson to work in the investment field. He started as a broker with McLarty & Duddleston and moved to the Sunburst Bank in 1984 as a Trust Investment Officer.In 1988, Ashby founded Vector Money Management and has served as President and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) since then. Ashby served in the Army Reserves from 1986 through 1992.Currently, Ashby is a member of the Investment Committee of the West Point Association of Graduates, and he serves on the Board of Directors of Bigger Pie Forum, the Institute of Technology Development, and Innovate Mississippi. In 2014, Ashby ran for and was elected as Councilman for Ward I in Jackson, MS, where he continues to serve. Ashby Foote served as the President of the City Council in 2022.
