The Blight Action Map provides a citywide view of identified blighted properties and supports data-informed planning and prioritization. It combines property-level records with ward boundaries, demolition information and community context so users can understand both the scale and geographic distribution of identified blight.
Properties shown in the blight inventory reflect available City records used for blight monitoring and code-enforcement analysis. The inventory represents identified conditions at a point in time; it is not a list of properties that have been funded, scheduled or approved for remediation.
Scored properties are grouped into Highest, High, Moderate and Lower Priority categories. These categories provide a relative framework for comparing properties and identifying locations that may warrant additional review. Priority is an analytical indicator and does not, by itself, determine which properties receive City action.
Demolition records are displayed as a separate layer because demolition decisions may depend on eligibility, legal requirements, funding, program availability and other operational considerations. A property appearing in the demolition dataset should not be interpreted as confirmation that demolition is funded, scheduled or immediately authorized.
Official City and ward boundaries provide geographic context for comparing the distribution of identified cases. The Ward filter highlights a selected ward and updates the map summary so users can compare case volume, priority distribution and demolition records across Jackson.
Users can search for a specific property, filter the inventory by ward and priority, toggle map layers, and review the corresponding records in the table below the map. Filtered results are intended to support analysis and planning; they do not represent a commitment of City resources.
The dashboard reflects the records available when the dataset was prepared. Property conditions, case information, demolition eligibility and other circumstances may change over time. Some records may also lack a usable map location even when they remain part of the source inventory.
This dashboard is an informational and planning tool, not the City's service-request system. Residents should continue to use Jackson 311 to report property concerns or request City services.
